“All human constructions are combinatorial, artefacts formed from a choice of existing elements.” (Steiner)

Perhaps the act of selecting and collecting natural elements derives essentially from an aesthetic impulse. An inceptive artistic gesture that evokes Ecological considerations by pointing out our place in the world as biologically conditioned living beings; Epistemological questions by evoking the Archive, the document and the creation of memory; and Aesthetic reflections in the extent that any act of selecting implies judgment and understanding of what is believed to be beautiful.
